Roles Included with CA OM Web Viewer

There are two special Roles, Default User and System Administrator, that are automatically included in CA OM Web Viewer.

Note: All other Roles of any type must be added manually.

Default User

If a user with valid mainframe credentials logs into CA OM Web Viewer, but does not have access to any Role, that user will be logged in using the Default User Role. Also, if the user has not been previously defined to CA OM Web Viewer that user will have a user object automatically defined and will automatically be put in the Default User Role. For more information, see Auto Enrollment - Mainframe Users.

The Default User Role can have Repositories and privileges assigned to it in the same manner as any other Role.

System Admin Role

The System Admin Role has complete access to the CA OM Web Viewer system.

Note: Be aware that a member of this Role cannot bypass existing mainframe repository data restrictions in CA Dispatch, CA Deliver, or CA View.

All future Roles will contain a subset of this Role’s privileges. The System Admin role is the only role in Web Viewer that can have a Role type of System Administrator. For more information about the privileges available to this Role, see the Role Type section.

When you are installing CA OM Web Viewer, you are required to define a default system administrator. This Default System Administrator is the first member of the System Admin Role. You can later add other users to the Role to have more than one user with System Admin privileges.

For more information, see the CA OM Web Viewer installation documentation.

Note: Although most Role types allow you to have more than one Role object of a particular type, you can only have one System Administrator Role, System Admin
