Version Control Files

CA SDM maintains two sets of version control files. One set is for secondary servers and the other for all clients. A controlled component can represent a file, a directory, or the client_nx.env environment variable file. A component can also be generic; that is, not be associated with any external object. You can use a generic component to provide version control for the client as a whole, or for a file or directory too large for an automatic upgrade. A generic component version mismatch is not updated automatically. A mismatch always results in a client fault and must be remedied manually.
