Administrators can assign Harvesters, routers, interfaces, and CVIs to domains. We recommend that you set up any custom tenants and domains you need before you add the Harvesters. This lets you assign the correct tenant-domain setting when you add each Harvester.
Having the correct tenant association ensures that the appropriate SNMP profiles are available for the routers to poll their interfaces.
Note: This topic describes the steps to perform in CA Performance Center. If you install CA Network Flow Analysis and register it as a data source for CA NetQoS Performance Center, the steps are slightly different. Having the appropriate IP domains set up helps to achieve the following goals:
For example, suppose a router with a single IP address has interfaces that belong to different enterprises. The domain identifiers clarify that the interfaces are different managed items, even though they have the same IP address.
The Default Domain is created automatically. The Default Domain includes any items that are not assigned to a custom domain.
Follow these steps:
The Manage IP Domains page opens and shows the current list of IP domains. If you have not created any custom IP domains, only the Default Domain appears in the list.
The IP Domains Administration dialog opens.
Identifies the domain.
(Optional) Describes this domain namespace, such as naming the enterprise that owns it.
Is the IP address of the primary name server for this domain.
Is the port number that the primary name server uses.
Is the IP address of the secondary name server for this domain. Can be the same as the primary address.
Is the port number that the secondary name server uses.
The new IP domain appears in the list.
