Delete Routers

You can delete a router that has stopped sending flows to CA Network Flow Analysis. If you delete a router, its historical data, interfaces, CVIs, and traps are deleted. The deletion also affects any aggregations, views, and reports that previously included the router interfaces.

You can delete a router in either of the following locations:

• Active Interfaces page -- To reclaim storage capacity on the server that retains the data for the router interfaces.
• Available Interfaces page -- To remove the router from the system completely.

If a deleted router has active interfaces, the following events can result:

• A router that you delete from the Active Interfaces page reappears on this page if all of the following conditions are met:
  • You deleted the router from the Active Interfaces page.
  • You left the router interfaces enabled on the Available Interfaces page.
  • The router interfaces begin to send flow again.
• If you delete a router from the Available Interfaces page, a new router can appear on both the Available Interfaces page and the Active Interfaces page if all of the following conditions are met:
  • You deleted the original router from the Available Interfaces page.
  • You configured interfaces to be enabled automatically: You set the Auto-Enable Interfaces setting to True on the Application Settings page.
  • The router interfaces begin to send flow again.

  In this case, the new router inherits the current tenant-domain of the parent Harvester. Any customizations that you made in the previous router settings are lost.
