Troubleshooting the Device Pack Installation

The following information describes troubleshooting the device pack installation.

Troubleshooting: No Performance Data for the Device Pack

Symptom:

I generated and deployed my device pack in CA Performance Center. Why do I not see any performance data for my device pack?

Solution:

Typically data is unavailable until after two performance polls.

Troubleshooting: Install Sample Device Packs

Symptom:

I have to practice creating and installing device packs before actually working with the application.

Solution:

To create and install the sample device packs, follow these steps:

  1. Execute the createDevicePack script.
  2. Provide the path of the devicePackConfig.xml file of the sample device pack. The resources folder contains the sample device pack-related files.
  3. Install the newly created device pack.

    Note: For more information about installing the device pack, see Installing the Generated Device Pack.

  4. Copy the sample CSV files from the resources folder of the sample device pack to a system other than Data Collector on which the SFTP service is running.
  5. Create the EMS profile. Provide the credentials and the path of the sample CSV files that you copied in the previous step. Change the value of IGNORE_DOWNLOAD_HISTORY to true.
