4.3 Using the Exception Reports for Problem Analysis
Standard reports and online inquiries are available for
reporting the exception information. Using the reports
effectively requires an understanding of the report
structure.
First, CA MICS provides management with a concise summary of
the frequency of problems in the exception management
overview. An integrated, time-of-day oriented report (the
severity level summary) provides the performance analyst and
systems team with a summary of the exceptions, in the order
of their severity, that have been detected for each hour of
the day.
Based on the exceptions reported and the known problems, the
performance analyst can then produce the Exception Full
Detail Report by using MICF. This report can help the
analyst assess quickly, and in greater depth, the DETAIL
exceptions and the CA MICS database information from which
they were detected to complete the research and resolution of
the reported items.
