6.1.4.4 CA NetSpy Network Session Accounting

The CA NetSpy network session accounting collects connect
time and traffic statistics for terminal sessions. It
collects this information from the NCP NPA Logical Unit
(NPALU). CA NetSpy network session accounting differs from
CA NetSpy NCP interface collection (also derived from the
NPALU) in the following major respects:

o Network session accounting identifies session partners
   (that is, PLU and SLU).

o Network session traffic statistics are for LU sessions
and never include line overhead, such as polling and
   retransmissions.

CA NetSpy writes network session accounting data to the CA
NetSpy user-defined SMF record with a subtype of "C". This
record is further divided into these subtypes: "S" for start,
"E" for end, and "I" for interval. CA MICS processes each of
these subtypes.
