06019: DMB Pool High Water Mark Exceeds Standard

    FILE: IMS System Activity
    SAS FILE NAME: DETAIL.IMSISY01
    SOURCE LOCATION: sharedprefix.MICS.SOURCE(DYIMSEXC)

    SEVERITY: Warning (SEVERITY='W')
    MANAGEMENT AREA: Performance (MGMTAREA='PERFORMANCE')

PURPOSE: Identifies that the DMB pool may require
    enlarging.

RATIONALE: Insufficient storage for this pool, which
contains all non-resident DMBs, will cause data base opens
and closes for the DMBs which are flushed for insufficient
space in this pool. This can have severe performance
implications. The number monitored is the percentage of the
pool that the high water mark represents. A number close to
60% may indicate insufficient pool size. The only way to
determine sufficiency is to increase pool size until the high
water mark remains constant and this percentage number
decreases.

DEFINITION: This exception is detected when the DMB pool
high water mark percentage exceeds the installation-defined
limit.

EXCEPTION STATEMENTS: The SAS statements identifying the
exception situation and describing the condition are stored
in the source member named in SOURCE LOCATION and are
described below:

THRESHOLD MODIFICATION: Modify the DMB pool
high-water-mark-percentage to a value between 0 and 100.
