6.3.1.1.1 Virtual Machine Resource Usage Records

Resource Usage records (types 01 and C1) identify virtual
(problem state) and total CPU use, logon duration (connect
time as different from terminal use time), I/O counts to
non-spooled devices, and use of spooled devices.

The I/O counts are for DASD, TAPE, and any other device that
is controlled directly by the virtual machine, but does not
contain counts for I/O performed through the *BLOCKIO system
service, or for console I/O (the console is a spooled
device).

The records read from a virtual card reader reflect the
number of records in the spool file when it is opened for
input, not the number of records read from the file.
