Any file data field or work field name can be specified. The maximum number of names is 32. All names must fit on one line; the real limit, however, is the size of the print line. CA JARS Wizard assumes the maximum print line size is 132 positions, unless the run includes a PARAMETER statement with a different WIDTH specification.
Enter the names in the order that the fields should appear in the report, from left to right. CA JARS Wizard automatically inserts blank spaces to separate fields in the report. In the LIST statement, names must be separated by commas.
A data field's name is also used as its column heading when printed in a report. The field can have more than one valid name because of a DEFINE statement in the run. The name in the LIST statement is used as the column heading.
A column heading can be one, two, or three lines in length. Names can be segmented into two or three lines by replacing any spaces in the field name by a slash (/). For example:
TEST FLAG appears as:
TEST FLAG
but
TEST/FLAG appears as:
TEST FLAG
An alternate column heading is specified by entering its text within single quote marks, immediately after the data field name.
For more information, see Appendix B for a discussion of suffix codes that can be used to specify or override print attributes of field-names.
causes CA JARS Wizard to insert n blanks between two adjacent fields. For vertical totals, use the appropriate suffix code to space n lines.
These suffix codes create vertical totals. Vertical totals are created for data fields at control breaks, but the fields are not included in either the detail or summary print line. The vertical totals for the fields are printed in column one after the regular line of control break totals.
Supplies totals for the field at every control break.
Supplies totals for the field only at specified control breaks. T1 is the lowest control break, and T8 refers to the highest control break.
Supplies totals for the field only with grand totals at the end of the report.
These suffix codes can be written following the LIST keyword. In this case, they apply to all items in the statement unless overwritten for an individual item by a different suffix.
The sample report on the next page illustrates the use of vertical totals.
Caution: If you use LIST field-name 'heading' (N,N), you will receive error messages. The correct format is: LIST field-name(N,N) 'heading'
