Troubleshooting CA IdentityMinder Environments

The following table describes possible error messages and the troubleshooting process:

Not Loaded

The CA IdentityMinder Directory which is associated with the environment was not loaded when CA IdentityMinder started.

1. Verify that the user store is running.

If CA IdentityMinder integrates with SiteMinder, verify that SiteMinder can connect to the user store.

In the Policy Server user interface, you can verify the connection by opening the properties page for the SiteMinder User Directory connection which is associated with the user store and click the View Contents button.

If you can see the contents of the user store, SiteMinder can connect successfully.

2. Restart CA IdentityMinder and the Policy Server.

Not OK

CA IdentityMinder cannot connect to the CA IdentityMinder Directory.

SM connection is not OK

CA IdentityMinder cannot connect to the SiteMinder Policy Server (for implementations that include SiteMinder)

1. Verify the following conditions:

  • The Policy Server is running.
  • The Web agent is protecting resources.

You can verify that the web agent is running correctly by accessing the Policy Server user interface. If you are prompted for credentials, the web agent is functioning correctly.

2. Restart CA IdentityMinder and the Policy Server.

IMS is not available now

An error has occurred in CA IdentityMinder.

Check the application server log for error details.

Windows 500 error message

The status page is not displayed when it is accessed while removing the connectivity with the LDAP user directory.

Set the internet browser option "Show friendly error message" to off to view the status page.
