Step 4. Encrypt Local Databases
If you copy REGARC.NSF or REGCERT.NSF to a local workstation, be sure to encrypt them. By encrypting the files, unauthorized users cannot view the contents of fields, such as passwords and certifier IDs.
Follow these steps:
- Open the database using the Lotus Notes Client workstation.
- Select Database/Properties.
The Database Properties dialog appears.
- Select Encryption settings.
The Encryption dialog appears.
- Select the "Locally encrypt this database using option" check box.
- Select the Strong, Medium, or Simple Encryption option depending on the type of encryption you want.
- Click OK to close the Encryption dialog.
- Click OK to close the Database Properties dialog.
