NSK Groups

You can create and maintain SAFEGUARD groups using the Endpoint Type task view. Use the SAFEGUARD Group Property Sheet when managing your groups.

You can define your GUARDIAN users and SAFEGUARD aliases to any group that exists on your HP NonStop SAFEGUARD system.

A GUARDIAN user is defined by a group name and a user name. A group name has a group number, and a user name has a user number. When defining a GUARDIAN user, you must make sure that the group number and group name match. The first user name defined in a GUARDIAN group determines the name of that group.

For example, if you create a user named ETRUST.USER, and the user ID is 20,100, by default the GUARDIAN user name ETRUST.USER belongs to the group ETRUST and has the number 20, and the user has 100 as user number. All user names for group 20 must then be in the form of ETRUST.name. GUARDIAN group numbers can range from 0 - 255.

SAFEGUARD allows groups to be defined with numbers up to 32767. SAFEGUARD and CA Identity Manager allow accounts to be associated with multiple groups and defines a primary group for any given account. When a new group is defined, you should perform another Exploration on the endpoint so CA Identity Manager has an updated group list.
