Install the Java Development Kit (JDK)
Before you begin the CA APM installation, install the Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.6.43 (32-bit) on the application server on which you will install the AMS. The CA APM installation automatically installs the Asset Management System (AMS) on the application server.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to the application server.
- In a web browser, download and install the JDK 1.6.43 (32-bit) from the Oracle website (http://www.oracle.com).
- Set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to reference the JDK 1.6.43 (32-bit) installation directory.
- Set the JRE_HOME environment variable to reference the subdirectory of the JDK 1.6.43 (32-bit) installation directory.
- Update the Path environment variable to reference the \bin directory of the JDK 1.6.43 (32-bit) installation directory.
