Contacts Sample Map File

A contact is a person or department who buys, sells, services, manages, or uses your IT assets in CA APM. You can define contact records for key individuals and departments with which you have a business relationship, such as the following:

The Contacts sample map file and data file show you how to map basic contact data. This data mapping creates ten contacts and the association between a company and its supervisor.

Mapping file

contact mapping.map

Data file

contacts.csv

You can find the sample map files, with their corresponding sample data files, in the following location:

C:\Program Files\CA\ITAM\Data Importer\Samples

Important! Use a test database (not a production database) when you load sample data with the sample mapping files. You cannot remove test data easily after it is imported into your database.

The Contacts mapping assumes that a company with a company alias of TIS is available in your CA APM database before you process the Contacts sample import.

Note: If a company with a company alias of TIS does not exist, you can add a company with this alias to your CA APM database. To create a company, start the Data Importer and select Tools, Advanced Settings. On the Settings dialog, select Automatically create new Secondary Lookup object. The company object is created based on the data that is provided in the contacts.csv data file.
