Copying Definitions from Another Dictionary
You can use the online system generation compiler to copy entity definitions from one data dictionary to another:
- Sign on to the dictionary containing the definition to be copied.
- Display the definition to be copied as syntax.
- Insert a SIGNON statement that names the dictionary to which the definition is to be copied at the beginning of the work file.
Note: For more information about the SIGNON statement, see SIGNON Statement.
- Use the top-line command UPDATE (or a control key associated with the UPDATE command) to submit the contents of the work file to the system generation compiler. Top-line commands are documented in the CA IDMS Common Facilities Guide.
