FILE <file-name>, RECORD LENGTH <record-length> INVALID FOR FILE-TYPE <file-type>.

Reason:

The logical record length of the data set is either zero, negative, or out-of-range for the particular data set file type (sequential, and so on).

Check for an invalid logical record length specification in any of the following:

• IDD file entity (z/OS/z/VSE)
• File characteristics definition (z/VSE)
• DD statement (z/OS)
• Data set label (z/OS)

Refer to the CA ADS Batch User Guide regarding logical record length options. Correct the erroneous logical record length, recompile the map if the IDD file entity was involved, and rerun the job.
