Once the characteristics of the application programs (processing requirements) and databases (data requirements) have been identified, the administrator can begin to design the network. The network design involves using the facilities available with CA IDMS DDS to construct a network that most efficiently organizes data and application programs and places system resources close to the users of those resources.
When designing a CA IDMS DDS network, the system administrator should consider the following:
