Manually Configure a Connection to CA GovernanceMinder

If a connection to CA GovernanceMinder was not automatically created within CA IdentityMinder, configure a connection manually to CA GovernanceMinder. This allows you to see Smart Provisioning functionality and configuration options in the User Console.

To manually configure a connection to CA GovernanceMinder

  1. Log in to the User Console as a user with system management privileges.
  2. Go to System, CA GovernanceMinder Configuration, Define Configuration.

    Note: Do not use other connection tasks in the User Console to create the connection to CA GovernanceMinder.

    The Connection Setting tab appears.

  3. Enter the following information about the system where CA GovernanceMinder is running:
    Host

    The fully qualified name or IP address of the system where CA GovernanceMinder is installed.

    Port

    The port number for CA GovernanceMinder.

    User ID

    The name for an account that has privileges to access CA GovernanceMinder.

    Password

    The password for the account specified in the User ID field.

    Secure Connection (HTTPS)

    Enables an HTTPS connection between CA IdentityMinder and CA GovernanceMinder.

    Note: You must have SSL configured to secure the connection between CA IdentityMinder and CA GovernanceMinder.

  4. Enter the following information about CA GovernanceMinder:
    Universe

    The name of the universe in CA GovernanceMinder that CA IdentityMinder communicates with.

    A universe is a virtual location in CA GovernanceMinder that encompasses the data collected from CA IdentityMinder.

    Note: You create a universe in the CA GovernanceMinder Portal. For more information, see the CA GovernanceMinder Configuration Guide.

  5. Click Test Connection to verify that CA IdentityMinder can connect to CA GovernanceMinder.

    CA IdentityMinder displays the connection status at the top of the screen.

  6. Click Submit.

    CA IdentityMinder can now successfully communicate with CA GovernanceMinder.
