Open the Tutorial Model in CA Gen Studio

You can open a model in Toolset and CA Gen Studio simultaneously but the model opens as read-only in one of them. If you open a model in CA Gen Studio first and then open the same model in Toolset, the model opens editable in CA Gen Studio and read-only in Toolset. To work on a model in Toolset, close it in CA Gen Studio before opening it in Toolset.

Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the CA Gen installation directory that stores the Tutorial model: \Samples\Models\Tutorial Models\Completed Models\5-Construction and Test directory.
2. Copy the egolf.ief directory to a local directory such as C:\Models.
3. Click Start, All Programs, CA, Gen xx, Gen Studio.

   Note: xx refers to the current release of CA Gen.

4. Click Web View UI Generation under Choose Perspectives.

   The Web View UI Generation perspective opens in the CA Gen Studio framework.

5. Click File, Open Model...
6. Browse to the local directory where the egolf.ief model was copied: C:\Models\egolf.ief.
7. Select the ief0000.dat file and click Open.

   The Tutorial model is opened and its contents are populated in the Web View UI Navigator view.
