Federation Manager User Interface Overview

Federation Manager configuration is managed through the Federation Manager User Interface (UI). The Federation Manager UI is a web application that provides an administrator with access to all the system management functions of the product.

An administrator is a user who has privileges and responsibilities for managing a federated solution. Multiple administrators can be responsible for manaing Federation Manager. Review the procedures for configuring multiple administrators.

The Federation Manager UI is organized into configuration tabs, sub-categories, lists and task buttons, as the following figure shows.

When navigating the UI, be aware of the following:

• Main configuration categories are reflected by the following tabs:
  • Federation
  • Certs & Keys
  • User Directory
  • Infrastructure

  You navigate to one of these tabs first when configuring an object.

• Sub-categories within each main configuration tab can be selected to configure specific aspects of the federation setup.
• Lists of objects are displayed for most sub-categories. These lists contain contextual links to access existing objects and task buttons to create or modify objects.
