Assess the Need for a Proxy List
Before you configure subscription clients, determine the source from which subscription clients retrieve content updates. Subscription clients can get updates directly from the default subscription proxy or you can configure an intermediate proxy list to off-load update requests.
- For enterprises with only a few CA Enterprise Log Manager servers that are in close network proximity, we recommend that subscription clients all use the default subscription proxy.

- For enterprises with a large number of CA Enterprise Log Manager servers or where the CA Enterprise Log Manager servers are widely dispersed, we recommend you configure a list of subscription proxies for each subscription client. When a proxy list is configured, each client contacts members of a proxy list, one at a time, and only if not successful contacts the default subscription proxy.
