Upgrade to r12.1 SP1 May Require iGateway Restart

Symptom:

The upgrade from r12.1 to r12.1 SP1 may not not complete in a timely way. If the subscription process runs without completion for an hour and a half or more, an iGateway restart may be required.

Solution:

We recommended that you use the following procedure to identify this issue:

  1. Complete the content subscription - Reports and Integrations - from 12.1 GA.
  2. Complete the binary subscription - Server, Agent, OS modules - to SP1.

This will let you differentiate the time elapsed for downloading each module, since depending on the module size, the time may vary. If the subscription portion runs too long without completion, restart iGateway from the CA Enterprise Log Manager user interface.

To restart the iGateway service

  1. Click the Administration tab and then click the Services subtab.
  2. Expand the System Status entry.
  3. Select a specific CA Enterprise Log Manager server.
  4. Click the service's Administration tab.
  5. Click Restart iGateway.
