Test Proxy Button Returns False Positive After Configuration Change

Symptom:

When you change CA Enterprise Log Manager proxy server settings after a successful test, and test again using the Test Proxy button, a confirmation message appears whether or not the new configuration is correct.

Solution:

The Test Proxy button uses the specified proxy configuration to access a URL through that proxy. Proxy servers generally cache client authentication when they are valid and ignore subsequent credentials until some idle time has elapsed.

This means that once the Test Proxy button correctly indicates that your configuration is valid, subsequent checks of incorrect configurations may incorrectly appear as valid for some period of time.
