Select the Types of Objects to Derive

You use options in the Type Selection dialog to apply filters for the derive process.

To select the types of objects to derive

  1. Click Design Layers, Derive New Model on the Actions menu.

The Derive Model wizard opens on the Target Model pane.

  2. Click the Type Selection link in the Explorer pane.

    The Type Selection pane opens.

  3. Work with the following options:
    Filter Level

Specifies the set of objects that will be derived to the new model. Only the filter options relevant to the new model type you selected for the target model are displayed. For example, if you designate a physical model as the new model, the logical filter is not available.

    Option Set

Lists the objects and properties you want to include in the derived model. You can open, modify, or delete an existing option set, or create a new option set. You can also select one of the preset option sets. The Advanced Default Option Set includes all objects and properties for the selected derive level. The Standard Default Option Set includes fewer selected objects and properties.

  4. Click Next.

    The Object Selection pane opens.

Note: You can click the Derive button at any time to start the derive process.
