Define the Default Datatype for New Columns

When working with a physical model, you can specify options for the default datatype for new columns in the physical model.

To define the default datatype for new columns

1. Click Target Database on the Actions menu in the physical model.

   The ERwin Data Modeler - Target Server dialog opens.

2. Select the default datatype for new columns added to the current model in the Default <Database> Datatype drop-down list and click OK.

   Note: For some databases, you can also enter or change the default parameters for scale and precision.

   The default datatype for new columns for your target server is defined and the ERwin Data Modeler - Target Server dialog closes.
