Define DB2 LUW Work Action Sets

You can use the DB2 for LUW Work Action Set Editor to set properties for a work action set. You assign work actions specified on the General tab with a selected work action set.

Note: This topic applies to DB2 for LUW versions 9.5 and 9.7 only.

To define a DB2 UDB work action set

  1. Right-click a Work Action Set in the Model Explorer and select Properties.

    The DB2 for LUW Work Action Set Editor opens.

  2. Select a work action set name and work with the following options:

    Note: Click New New icon in property editors to create a new object on the toolbar to create a work action set name. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a large list of names to locate the one you want to work with.

    Name

    Specifies the name of the work action set.

    Type

    Specifies the database manager object to which the action s in the work action apply. Select Database or Service Class from the drop-down list.

    Work Class Set

    Specifies the work class set associated with the work action set.

    Enabled

    Specifies that the work action set is enabled. Clear the check box to disable the work action set.

    Generate

    Specifies whether or not to generate DDL for this object during Forward Engineering.

  3. Click the General tab to assign work actions to a work action set. You can click New to create a work action, or click the Work Action Editor icon to open the editor.
    Service Class

    Specifies the service class associated with the work action set. Select a service class from the drop-down list. You can edit this field only if you have selected Service Class as the type of work action set.

    The following properties apply to a work action:

    Name

    Specifies the name of the work action.

    Work Class

    Specifies the associated work class. Select a work class from the drop-down list.

    Action Type

    Specifies the work action type. Select from the valid values in the drop-down list.

    Enabled

    Specifies that the work action is enabled. Clear the check box to disable the work action.

  4. Click the Comment tab and enter any comments you want to associate with the work action set.
  5. Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the work action set.
  6. Click the Notes tab to view history information and view or edit user notes.
  7. Click Close.

    The DB2 for LUW Work Action Set Editor closes.
