The first step of job DDEXLDSI executes the IBM IDCAMS utility which allocates the CADDSPL VSAM linear data sets (LDS).
By default, the DDEXLDSI job is set up to initialize one 50 cylinder Root LDS and two (200 and 100 cylinder) appended LDS files. If your site requires more than 3 LDS files, CAIJCL member DDEXLDSA can subsequently be used to append additional LDS files to add more report data space.
The LDS files are used as input staging areas for the RPI, MSG, and ARCHIVE subtasks. All report data that is awaiting printing by the RPO tasks also resides within the LDS. All Online Viewing Report and MSGCLASS data is stored on the LDS. For information about LDS sizing calculations, see the "System Requirements" chapter.
The following is an example of the Define Cluster statement with Data set name, Volume and cylinder size.
Modify the default settings where necessary so that the values specified are compatible with your site requirements. Be sure to consider the following critical variables:
