Step 1. Allocate LDS Files and Configure CADDSPL Processing Options

This step is for all new CA Dispatch installations. It defines and configures a set of linear data sets (LDS) for use by a specific CADDSPLx task and a CA Dispatch task.

Note: LDS files cannot be shared by multiple CADDSPLx and CA Dispatch tasks.

CADSJCL member DDEXLDSI must be customized and executed. DDEXLDSI is a two step job that does the following:

• Executes a standard IBM IDCAMS utility to allocate the Root and Append linear data sets.
• After the LDS files are allocated, DDEXLDSI executes the CADDUTIL utility to define and store all CADDSPL configuration and processing options within the Root LDS.

Important! All options should be reviewed before you submit the DDEXLDSI job.
