Root LDS
The CADDSPL Root LDS is used exclusively to store configuration and report entry management information. It is managed by three types of internal records:
- Global CADDSPL environment information records
- Individual report entry information records that describe each report or MSGCLASS entry stored in any of the Append LDS files
- Report Data mapping information records
Each individual Root LDS file is limited to a 2 GB maximum size. When initializing the Root LDS, there are two size factors which work in tandem that must be defined correctly:
- The physical size of the Root LDS file (up to 2GB). See the Calculating the physical size of the Root LDS section below.
- The MAXDS value, or maximum number of reports and MSGCLASS entries that can be stored within the LDS files at any one time. This value will be set by the MAXDS parameter during Root LDS initialization.
Important! The LDS file allocation sizes and MAXDS parameter value will be required during the Allocate LDS files and Configure CADDSPL Processing Options step in the "Installation Steps" chapter.
