The following return codes are returned from the IBM catalog management routines. It is a list of the most common return codes encountered. For a complete list of codes, see the IBM Data Management Services Guide or the IBM Message Library System Messages Guide for message IDC3009I.
The system catalog was not mounted or available.
The DSNAME cannot be cataloged due to the existing structure of catalog entries (for example, when trying to catalog data set A.A.A, there is already a cataloged data set named A.A.A.A).
For reason code 56, security or password verification failed.
The index structure necessary to catalog the data set does not exist.
No space left in the catalog. The catalog is full.
An attempt was made to catalog an improperly named generation data set, or the generation index is full and the named data set is older than any currently in the index.
A permanent I/O error was encountered.
