DMS RECORD TOTAL LESS THAN CATALOG VALUE FOR DSN (ddd) CATALOG TOTAL = (nnn) DMS TOTAL = (ttt)

Reason:

After reading data set (ddd), CADisk compared the total number of records it read against the record total found in the catalog. The value found in the catalog is greater than the number of records actually read. The mismatch is probably due to an incorrect total in the catalog. This is especially true for IMS-type data sets which do not go through standard close and therefore do not have accurate statistics in the catalog.

Action:

This discrepancy should be viewed with caution since it may be an indication of lost data. If you are suspicious of a particular CADisk total, run a different utility (such as IDCAMS PRINT) to determine the number of records it reads in the data set. If this total is different from the CADisk total, contact CA Technical Support for assistance.
