2424

2424—CRITERIA FOR SELECTING MERGE VOLUMES AS A PERCENTAGE OF UTILIZATION:

2424—DISK ARCHIVE VOLUMES USING LESS THAN nn% OF THE ALLOCATED SPACE.

2424—1600BPI TAPE ARCHIVE VOLUMES USING LESS THAN nn% OF #len TAPEFEET = (bbbb-FEET, ccccKB)

2424—6250BPI TAPE ARCHIVE VOLUMES USING LESS THAN nn% OF #len TAPEFEET = (bbbb-FEET, ccccKB)

2424—CART ARCHIVE VOLUMES USING LESS THAN nn% OF #len CARTFEET = (bbbb-FEET, ccccKB)

2424—ONLY PRIMARYn SELECTED

2424—ONLY VBACKUP VOLUMES SELECTED

Reason:

This group of messages informs you of the parameters being used during MERGE processing.

Value nn is the value that is specified in the MERGE PERCENT command parameter. Volumes using less than this percentage of space are processed by MERGE. All others are ignored.

The value #len is taken from sysparm TAPEFEET or CARTFEET depending on device type. You use it to determine the percentage of a volume that is full.

Value (bbbb) is based on the values that are shown for #len and nn. Value (bbbb) indicates the number of used tape feet that determine if it is to be merged. Value cccc is number of kilobytes.

If Y is specified for CARTCALC, the used cartridge percent is based on the actual size.

PRIMARYn shows which type, PRIMARY1 or PRIMARY2 type Archvols were selected.

If only the VBACKUP VOLUMES SELECTED message is present, only VBACKUPs Archvols are selected for merging.
