ALLOCATION REQUESTED FOR (ddd) ON (vvv) HAS FAILED; ALLOCATION WILL BE RETRIED WITHOUT THE CONTIGUOUS ATTRIBUTE

Reason:

Allocation failed for PDS (ddd) on volume (vvv) during PDS Compress copy-back. The allocation amount was calculated by one of the following:

• The original primary plus secondary extents the ALLOCATE= parameter
• The SPACE= parameter

This type of allocation failure can usually be attributed to fragmented free space on the target volume. The allocation will be retried without requesting the space in contiguous tracks.

Note: If the data set was allocated using the "CONTIG" attribute for performance reasons, you may want to move the data set to another volume, which can satisfy the allocation request.
