Connect to Source System on Standard Network

The Connect to Source System on Standard Network page lets the destination machine connect to the source machine.

Note: You cannot specify the same system as both source and destination.

For a real-time migration using a network connection:

Connect: Connects the destination system with the source system. If CA DMM finds the system you want to connect to, Connect is enabled.
Search: Displays the Search for Source Systems page, which lists the source systems available on the network.
Enter IP: Displays the Enter IP Address dialog that lets you enter an IP address or DNS name for the server.

Note: If a CA DMM password was assigned on the server, you are prompted for it before being connected.

Enable the encryption mode: Provides the option to encrypt the data exchanged in a real-time migration on the destination computer.

For a real-time migration using a crossover configuration:

Click Destination on the Select a DMM Task page.
Select the Actions menu and choose Crossover Configuration.
The system automatically identifies and configures the crossover configuration, and connects to the source system.

You can continue with the migration.

Note: You must be signed on as an administrator to perform a migration using crossover cables and the crossover function.
