Numerous costs are associated with PC life cycle events such as switching out hardware, rolling out a new operating system, or recovering lost or destroyed desktop or laptop systems. When attempted manually, these processes are time-consuming, error-prone, and costly. DMM Always Current Scheduler reduces the amount of time and effort required when a PC life cycle event such as a PC refresh, an operating system upgrade, or a desktop recovery event occurs. By keeping an always current version of your enterprise PC DNA, you can dramatically reduce these costs, enabling users to maintain their productivity, increase the productivity of IT personnel, and decrease help desk calls.
DMM Always Current Scheduler is a component of CA DMM. When you install CA DMM on individual desktops or laptops, you can schedule the recurring storage of the PC’s DNA to a network location or removable media to keep your enterprise PC DNA always current. The DMM Always Current Scheduler interface is highly intuitive and leverages your knowledge of the CA DMM wizard design.
The first time the DNA for a PC is stored, all the defined system and application settings and data are stored. Each time the scheduled task runs, it saves only the changes made to the settings or data.
You must install CA DMM on users' machine so that DMM Always Current Scheduler can run. You cannot run DMM Always Current Scheduler from a network share. Using DMM Always Current Scheduler you can schedule a DMM store task, view a DMM store task, or apply a revision of a stored DNA file. These commands are available from the Start menu.
