Deferred Migrations
Performing a deferred migration is considered best practice where one or more of the following situations exist:
- The source system and the destination system have the same hardware. The source system is going to be ‘wiped and reloaded’ with a new operating system and/or applications.
- The DNA can be created and saved to a storage device such as another system, a server location (such as a file server, network appliance, or an Apache Web server), removable media, or any other source capable of storing the DNA file for later retrieval.
