Log on to the CCS Policy Editor

Usually, you must direct your browser to the URL for the CCS Policy Editor. But if you are logged onto the primary CCS server, you can click a desktop shortcut.

If you are logged on to the primary CCS server

Click the CCS Policy Editor shortcut on your desktop to browse to the policy editor.

If you are logged on to a remote computer

1. Browse to the URL for the Log on to the CCS Policy Editor. The URL takes the following format:

   http://CCS_Server/Virtual_Dir/?mode=ccs
   

   CCS_Server

   Specifies the name or IP address of the primary CCS server.

   Virtual_Dir

   The name of the virtual directory for the CCS Policy Editor front-end server. The default name is 'cadataminder'.

   ?mode=ccs

   This parameter customizes the console to ensure that only the Policy page is displayed. Other CA DataMinder iConsole pages available in a full CA DataMinder deployment are hidden.

   For example, if your primary CCS server is hosted on UX-CCS, enter the following URL in the browser address box:

   http://UX-CCS/cadataminder/?mode=ccs
   

2. (Applicable only if your browser is in a different domain to the primary CCS server)

   When the 'Connect to Domain' dialog appears, enter the user name and password of a Windows account recognized by the domain of the primary CCS server.
