Before you deploy the CCS FCI plug-in, note the following requirements:
FCI and the CCS FCI plug-in are supported on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Note: The CCS FCI plug-in has also been successfully tested on Windows Server 2012 (in beta at March 2012). Windows Server 2012 includes extended FCI functionality. For example, you can define conditional access rules for files based on their classification property. In particular, you can use CCS classifications to define conditional access rules and encryption rules for files.
Install the CCS FCI plug-in on each Windows file server hosting files that you want to classify.
You configure FCI using the File Server Resource Manager.
The File Server Resource Manager is a feature of the File Services role in applicable versions of Windows Server. Verify that the File Services role is installed on each Windows file server hosting files that you want to classify.
Verify that Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 is installed on each server hosting the CCS FCI plug-in.
Verify that the primary CCS server is installed on your network.
