Other New Features

The following new features have also been added to CA DataMinder since version 6.0.

CPSA support for Print Screen control

The Client Print System Agent (CPSA) now provides the ability to disable the Print Screen button on a user's keyboard. This control is enabled or disabled by a new setting in the user policy.

ICAP Agent

The ICAP Agent enables CA DataMinder to integrate with Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) clients. This provides CA DataMinder with a further method for controlling HTTP activity such as file uploads and downloads.

When the ICAP Agent receives requests from third party ICAP clients, it routes them to CA DataMinder policy engines which then apply Data In Motion triggers, for example, to block inappropriate uploads.

Note: Organizations run ICAP clients on proxy servers such as Blue Coat ProxySG and Squid to intercept and offload requests initiated from a browser and responses from a Web site.

Integration with CA Message Manager

CA DataMinder can now integrate with CA Message Manager. Using the External Agent API, Message Manager can pass messages to a policy engine for analysis. Included with each message is a unique identifier.

If a message causes a policy trigger to activate, a CA DataMinder event is generated and the unique identifier is added to the event metadata and stored on the CMS. CA DataMinder uses this identifier to retrieve the associated e-mails or IM conversations from the Message Manager archive during subsequent event searches.

Integration with EMC SourceOne for Exchange

CA DataMinder can now integrate with EMC SourceOne for Exchange. CA DataMinder can extract e-mails from the EMC SourceOne archive (using the External Agent API) and import them into the CMS.

Syslog support

CA DataMinder can now send log messages to Syslog servers such as CA Enterprise Log Manager or ArcSight. For example, you can send a policy incident log message to a Syslog server each time a CA DataMinder policy trigger fires.

New settings in the machine policy allow you to specify up to three Syslog servers. You can also specify the logging level and, if required, the severity values for CEF messages.

Note: The term 'Syslog server' is used here to refer to the Syslog receiver (also commonly known as a syslogd or syslog daemon).
