Integrating CA DataMinder with EmailXtender involves the following tasks:
The External Agent API enables CA DataMinder to integrate with third party email archives.
For integration with EmailXtender, the External Agent API converts archived emails into CA DataMinder event files and saves them to a shared network folder where they can be accessed by Event Import.
For External Agent API deployment instructions. In particular, consider the registry edit in step 3 of 'Install the External Agent API'.
Event Imoprt retrieves the extracted emails from the shared network folder specified in step 1 and imports them into the CMS.
The example diagram in the previous section shows the Remote Data Manager (RDM) installed on the CMS.
The RDM enables CA DataMinder to retrieve events that are archived in third party remote storage locations and display them in the iConsole or Data Management console.
To install the RDM, run the CA DataMinder server installation wizard. In the Remote Data Manager Configuration screen, select EMC EmailXtender for Exchange or EMC EmailXtender for Domino from the archive list.
Important! If you select EMC EmailXtender for Domino, see the EmailXtender post-installation task in 'EMC SourceOne integration'.
Install this connector (ExOConnSetup.exe) on the RDM host machine. The connector enables the RDM to connect to the EmailExtender server. From version 4.8 SP1 onwards, you can find the connector on your EMC distribution media in the \Setup\Windows folder.
Note: This connector is supplied by EMC and has not been rebranded to reflect the product name change from ‘Orchestria APM’ to ‘CA DataMinder’.
For details refer to your EMC EmailXtender documentation.
