Deployment Options

You can install the server components (Base and FSA) together on the same machine, or individually on separate machines:

Single machine deployment: If you want to deploy all three components on to the same machine, then you can install them at the same time. This is the fastest way to deploy CA Data Protection FastStart.
Distributed deployment: If you intend to install these components on separate machines, then you need to install the Base component first. This is recommended for larger-scale deployments.

Both deployment options support CA Data Protection endpoint agents on users’ workstations.
