Install the Universal Adapter
The procedure is summarized below. For full instructions, see the Universal Adapter Guide, available from CA Technical Support.
- Outlook email client: Ensure that Microsoft Outlook is installed on the target UA server.
Note: You must use Outlook as your MAPI client. You cannot use an Exchange Server Management Pack instead of Outlook.
- Specify the UA domain user: Note the following requirements for this user:
- DB2 CommonStore for Exchange: The UA service must be able to access the relevant mailboxes hosted on the Exchange server. In particular, the Universal Adapter service must run as a domain user who can access these mailboxes. Therefore, you must either create a new domain user for the Universal Adapter server, or choose an existing domain user.
- DB2 CommonStore for Domino: The UA service must be able to access the relevant Notes journal databases hosted on the Domino server.
- Install a de-duplication database: This step is optional. If you do not install a de-duplication database, the Universal Adapter will continue to process emails, but will be unable to remove duplicate emails.
- Install the Universal Adapter: To do this, you run the UA installation wizard provided by CA. This installs the UA service onto the local machine.
