CA DLP can integrate with IBM DB2 CommonStore for Domino. Integration with IBM DB2 CommonStore is provided through the Universal Adapter (UA). For the purposes of this type of integration, the Universal Adapter ingests emails from one or more Notes journal databases and outputs them, each with a unique ID, to one or more Notes mailboxes. IBM DB2 CommonStore for Domino can then archive the emails.
The UA also outputs the same emails to an event cache for subsequent import into the CMS, via Import Policy. The import operation ensures that policy is applied to events corresponding to emails in the archive. The archived emails can be subsequently retrieved by reviewers using CA DLP consoles, retrieving email content from the IBM DB2 Content Manager if the CMS remote data cache does not contain a copy.
The diagram below shows a typical deployment of IBM DB2 CommonStore for Domino.

Emails from one or more Notes journal databases (1a) are ingested into the Universal Adapter (2) where they are each given a unique ID, stored as a property of the email. A Notes client is also installed on the UA machine (2).
The UA outputs the emails to one or more Notes mailboxes (1b), where they are then extracted by IBM DB2 CommonStore for Domino (4) and subsequently archived by IBM DB2 Content Manager (5).
The UA also outputs the same emails to an EVF cache (3a) on the Import Policy host server (3). Event Import (3b) imports the EVFs and passes them to a policy engine (3c) for processing. The resulting events are then replicated up to the CMS (6).
Reviewers can use the iConsole (7) to request events. If email content is not currently held on the CMS (6a), RDM (6b) can retrieve it from the IBM archive (5a) via the CA DLP IBM Content Manager Interface (6c).
When the Remote Data Manager retrieves an email from the IBM archive, it sends that email to a temporary local database (6d) where it is converted from its IBM proprietary format. The RDM then converts the email into a CA DLP event and deletes it from the temporary database.
