When SourceOne passes emails to the SourceOne archive agent, each email includes a unique identifier. In turn, the archive agent passes this identifier to a policy engine. When the policy engine processes the email from SourceOne, it generates a CA DLP email event and adds the unique identifier to the event’s metadata. The event and its identifier are then replicated to the CMS. The RDM will use this identifier to retrieve the email from the SourceOne archive during subsequent event searches.
You can install the RDM on any CA DLP server. The architecture diagram in EMC SourceOne Integration shows the RDM installed on the CMS server.
To set up event retrieval
For full details, see Install the RDM. Briefly, the RDM is part of the CA DLP Platform. You install it using the CA DLP server installation wizard. When this wizard launches:
Important! The EmailXtender feature enables RDM integration with both EmailXtender and SourceOne!
If the SourceOne host machine changes subsequently after installing the RDM, you must edit the registry to specify the new host.
Finally, if the RDM is running remotely and not installed on your SourceOne management server, you must install EMC SourceOne SRE Initialization package (ES1_SRESetup.exe). This enables the RDM to connect to SourceOne.
Note: You can obtain the SRE Initialization package from EMC. The minumum supported SRE version is 6.51.1317.
