Password Protection
Native Windows security can protect passwords and enforce password quality in a number of ways. Windows offers the ability to:
- Enforce a maximum password age
- Enforce a minimum password length
- Save up to 24 generations of a user's passwords
- Lock out accounts after repeated login failures
- Force users to log on to Windows before changing their passwords
CA ControlMinder also enforces the same rules but through its own unique mechanisms. In addition, CA ControlMinder implements two‑way password synchronization with mainframe computers.
