An event is a predefined string of characters received on the console line of the serviced system. You must add one definition in the configuration database for each event you want to be detected. See Chapter 11, “Setting Up the ENS Components,” for an explanation of how to do this using the command line interface or the DECwindows Motif interface to the configuration editor.
Note: A set of Console Manager internal events is supplied with the product. If you require any other events, you must set them up yourself.
All event strings are case and white space sensitive.
One event definition can be used by many systems. You must define the series of characters as either a literal string or a regular expression.
