What is ENS?

ENS is a flexible mechanism used to dispatch a predefined action, or series of actions, to notify you when an event occurs on the console of a serviced system.

Console Manager defines events as a specific series of characters that appear at the console of the serviced system. You must put the definitions for any events you wish to be detected into the configuration database, using the configuration editor.

When Console Manager detects an event, such as a fatal bug check, it runs an action, for example, an electronic mail message, to notify you. This enables monitoring of the system console output data without the need for an operator to be constantly viewing the system console.
