Reading Current Console Log Data

To read currently selected console log data that has passed from view on your screen, scroll through the data using the keystrokes shown in the following table.

Next Screen

Scroll the log data forwards by one log window full of data

Prev Screen

Scroll the log data backwards by one log window full of data

PF1 Up Arrow

Display the message list if one does not already exist, or scroll the message list up by one line if it does

PF1 Down Arrow

Display the message list if one does not already exist, or scroll the message list down by one line if it does

When using a terminal that does not have arrow keys, use the monitor interface commands shown in the following table.

UP [lines]1

Move up the log data the specified number of lines for the currently selected system

DOWN [lines]1

Move down the log data the specified number of lines for the currently selected system

TOP

Move to the top of the log data for the currently selected system

BOTTOM

Move to the bottom of the log data for the currently selected system

1If the number of lines is not specified, the log data is scrolled by one log window full of data.

 

When using multiple log windows, you can switch between them using the keystrokes or commands shown in the following table.
