Reading Archived Data

To be able to view archived console logs, you need to place the archive files in the default archive directory as specified in the configuration database.

You can view archived logs by using the command:

$ CONSOLE EXTRACT

You can also use the monitor interface REVIEW command (see Chapter 8, “Using the Monitor Interface”).

These commands concatenate the archive files for the required system into a temporary file in the default archive directory. and displays the file on the user's terminal. Therefore, there must be sufficient space in the default archive directory before attempting to review the archive data. The amount of space required is equal to the sum of all the available archive files for the system being reviewed.

Note: Do not rename archive files, as the Monitor REVIEW and EXTRACT commands use the file names to correctly concatenate the files for chronological review.
